Itinerary
- Pick-Up: Our guide will pick you up from your accommodation or O.R. Tambo International Airport at 08:00.
- Travel Time: The drive from Johannesburg takes approximately 2.5 hours, while from Limpopo camps, it takes about 3 hours.
- Guided Experience: A professional guide will be with you throughout your trip, offering expertise and ensuring a memorable experience.
- Arrival & Lunch: Upon arrival at Pilanesberg National Park, enjoy a delicious lunch at Bakubung Lodge.
- Local Market Visit: Explore the local African market for unique souvenirs and local crafts.
- Check-In: Transfer to your 4-star safari lodge, located approximately 15 minutes from Bakubung Gate. Check-in and relax in your comfortable accommodations.
- Sunset Photo Safari: At 16:00, embark on a guided sunset photo safari. This includes a stop at a watering hole to enjoy sundowners and witness the stunning African sunset. (duration 3 hours)
- Dinner: Savor dinner and non-alcoholic drinks at the safari lodge’s restaurant.
- Accommodation: Enjoy a restful overnight stay at the safari lodge.
- Early Bird Hot Air Balloon Photo Safari: Begin your day with an early bird photo safari starting at 04:15.
- Buffet Brunch: After your safari, indulge in a delicious buffet brunch featuring a pancake and waffle station.
- Day Visit: Activities at the lodge include swimming, visiting the hide, and mini-golf.
- Sunset Photo Safari: At 16:00, embark on a sunset photo safari. This guided excursion, similar to the morning safari, provides opportunities to capture the beautiful evening light and wildlife.
- Dinner: After your sunset safari, enjoy dinner at the safari lodge’s restaurant, where you can unwind and savour a range of dishes.
- Nightcap: Safari Lodge Bar & Lounge
- There is an option to go to the Sun City Casino with a transfer after dinner.
- Overnight Accommodation: Retire to your comfortable 4-star safari lodge for a restful night’s stay.
- Early Bird Photo Safari: Start your day with an early bird photo safari, beginning between 05:30 and 06:00. Enjoy a 3-hour safari that includes witnessing a breathtaking sunrise and capturing stunning wildlife photographs.
- Buffet Brunch: After your safari, indulge in a delicious buffet brunch, featuring a pancake and waffle station. The brunch is served on the restaurant’s deck, offering a scenic view of the watering hole.
- Check-Out: Check out of your safari lodge by 10:00.
- Return Travel: Travel back to O.R. Tambo International Airport. Time permitting, make a brief stop at Safari & Outdoor, the largest safari shop in South Africa.
- Drop-Off: Arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport between 16:00 and 17:00.

Important Information
The Hot Air Balloon Safari is weather-dependent and may be subject to last-minute cancellation. In the event of a cancellation, you will receive a full refund, and the package will revert to the standard Pilaneserg National Park African Photo Safari at a cost of $650 per person.
- Wear layered clothes as the mornings can be chilly but through the day it can become nice and warm.
